Duties and Responsibilities:

• Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, including espresso, cappuccino, latte, and specialty drinks, following established recipes and quality standards.
• Welcome and engage customers in a friendly and professional manner, ensuring their needs and preferences are met.
• Operate coffee equipment, such as espresso machines, grinders, and brewing tools, with precision and care.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the coffee preparation and service areas.
• Recommend and educate customers about different coffee blends, flavors, and brewing techniques.
• Handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently, adhering to cash handling policies.
• Assist in managing inventory by monitoring stock levels and placing orders as needed.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations and exceptional customer experiences.
• Uphold Plato Coffee’s brand image and values through outstanding service and attention to detail.
• Stay updated on industry trends and new coffee offerings, sharing knowledge with colleagues and customers.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Previous experience as a barista or in a similar customer-facing role is preferred.
• Passion for coffee and a deep understanding of coffee beans, brewing methods, and flavour profiles.
• Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to create a welcoming and immersive coffee experience.
• Strong multitasking abilities, thriving in a fast-paced environment.
• Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining quality standards.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to work well in a team and contribute to a positive and collaborative work environment.
